ABOUT WIGS FOR KIDS:
For over 30 years, Wigs For Kids has been providing hair replacement solutions and support to children who have lost their hair due to chemotherapy, radiation therapy, alopecia, trichotillomania, burns, and other medical issues.
Wigs For Kids creates hair replacements using human hair donations, which are sent as multiple ponytails or braids of at least 12” in length, following specific harvest guidelines to ensure usable quality. All hair replacements are hand made to ensure a natural transition into their hair replacement system. The hair replacements can be attached with medical adhesive strips so they stay in place through the most rigorous conditions and can be styled any way, allowing a child to look themselves and live their lives. Hair replacements are custom-fit to each individual’s head. Children are able to choose everything from the color, the length, the texture, and how it is styled.
The effects of hair loss go deeper than just a change in a child’s outward appearance. Hair loss can erode a child’s self-confidence and limit them from experiencing life the way children should. When children lose their hair, they don’t just suffer physically. The change in their appearance can drastically undermine their self-image and sabotage their self-esteem. To help heal the pain of these struggles, Certified Cosmetic Therapist Jeffrey Paul founded Wigs for Kids, a nonprofit organization that has been serving children suffering from hair loss since 1981.

Some with autoimmune diseases, such as alopecia, receive care from Wigs For Kids until they reach the age of 18, while children with temporary hair loss due to chemotherapy or radiation therapy may only need treatment for a couple of years.
You can assist families with the cost of hair replacement systems by sponsoring a child in Wigs For Kids by giving a monetary gift. Your generosity will help to restore a child’s precious smile and allow them to look themselves and live their life. There has never been a more important time to make a difference than now.
Another way to support Wigs For Kids, is with a donation of your hair which will be used in the actual creation of a replacement system for a child in need! The hair to be donated must be virgin (not chemically altered), at least 12′ in length, and must be properly harvested, packaged, and shipped to ensure the hair is in the best quality for the affiliate salons to create the wigs.
